The couple had a raucous time at London’s fashionable Cuckoo Club, where they partied into the early hours before speeding off together in Jemima’s Mini.

The pair were introduced last year by Jemima’s brother Zac Goldsmith when he hosted a poker night with Shane, whose colourful love life generates almost as many headlines as his deadly spin bowling.

‘Jemima arrived with Shane and other friends after he had finished filming Al Murray’s Happy Hour,’ reports a spy. ‘They were all in high spirits and Jemima seemed particularly keen on letting her hair down.’ But while she is clearly enjoying her new-found freedom, a reconciliation between Jemima and Hugh may not be off the cards. A source close to Jemima, says ‘Hugh has spoken to Jemima and is missing her very much. He is certainly not out of love with her.

‘The truth is Jemima issued him with an ultimatum – he either had to commit to her or they both moved on. Hugh dithered and Jemima ditched him.

But with the heiress seemingly intent on living the single life to the full, she may not even have time to consider any peace offerings from the remorseful Hugh.
